17 week private pregnancy scan

On the NHS you can only find out the gender of your baby while in the room. We knew we wanted to pay for a private gender scan so we could find out the gender together and away from the clinics.

We headed back to our local Window to the Womb where we had our scan and they popped the gender in an envelop for us to find out together at home.

As always the scans done here are amazing! They aren't very long in length but the staff are always so kind and helpful throughout the whole thing which is really important. With this scan we also had a stubborn baby so had to go for a long walk to get baby moving so they could actually see the gender.

After about half an hour we went back and they managed to get the gender for us! The feeling of them knowing but not us was so strange.

As part of the gender package you also get a sneak peak of a 4D scan. Of course baby wasn't in the right place so all the see was the back, but it was still amazing. We will be booking a 4D scan to hopefully see more of baby later on in the pregnancy.

After the scan they told us our report could be downloaded on the app and we also got to purchase a heart beat soft toy which was a lovely touch.

Now to head home and find out the gender....
