7 week early pregnancy scan
On the 22nd of June we went to our local Window to the womb for an early scan. Being a natural anxious person I knew I couldn't wait until our 12 week scan on the NHS, so a private one it was.
The days leading up to the scan made me even more anxious. I think it's mainly the unknown and the fact all you have to go by at this point is a positive pregnancy test. All the thoughts were running around in my head, while my partner, as ever, completely chilled about everything - which is probably better than having two completely anxious people.
Due to being so early I knew this would be an internal scan, while you don't have to do this, it's highly recommended as you have a much higher chance of being able to ensure everything is okay. In all honesty, I was a little nervous for this and spent hours watching TikTok videos all about internal pregnancy scans. However, it really wasn't as bad as I thought, it was uncomfortable for me but didn't hurt.
Once the sonographer has had an initial look they turn on the screens in the room for you to see baby! When they told us we had a healthy baby with a heart beat, I just burst into tears. In that exact moment, all my anxious feelings and thoughts just left my body. We have a baby!!!
With our scan with Window to the womb we got to download an app to view our scan pictures and videos which we purchased along with a full report of everything that happened within the scan. Even though at 7 weeks the scan pictures just show a little sack, it's amazing to see and even better to see the actual heart beat on a screen.
Our scan cost us £60 as we had a discount code from someone on Instagram, (so make sure you check out people's pages for discounts on these scans).
